Michael Lyster presents a live double header of the All Ireland Senior Football Championship Quarter finals as current champions Kerry take on Down at 2.00pm followed by the battle between Tyrone and Dublin and 4.00pm at Croke Park. Coverage of the first rugby game to be played in the new Aviva Stadium as composite teams selected of young players from the Irish provinces with a Leinster-Ulster team to play a Connacht-Munster selection in the O2 Challenge match. THE 3 IRISH OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

The 3 Irish Open has become one of the most prestigious national championships on the European Tour. RTÉ Sport will be there, on the magnificent Killeen course in Killarney Golf and Fishing Club, to capture the atmosphere, all the twists and turns, as Shane Lowry defends the title he won in such dramatic fashion last year in County Louth Golf Club, Baltray.

Con Murphy and former tour professional John McHenry will present all the action live from the opening round until the final putt is made on Sunday evening August 1st. Darren Frehill will report from the course and give us a taste of the special Kerry welcome for the Irish Open. The commentators will be Shane O’Donoghue, Dougie Donnelly, Julian Tutt and Denis Hutchinson.

Bill O’Herlihy is joined by John Giles and Richie Sadlier for live coverage of the first ever football match to take place in the new Aviva stadium as an Airtricity League XI take on Manchester United in an exhibition match. The Airtricity League XI, which will be managed by ex-Shelbourne, Shamrock Rovers and Cork City manager, Damien Richardson, will represent the league against Manchester United. Commentary by George Hamilton and Eoin Hand.

EUROPA LEAGUE QUALIFIER – THURS 5TH AUG AT 7.30PM ON RTÉ TWO

Live coverage of Juventus v Shamrock Rovers in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round from Modena, Italy. The second leg tie kicks-off at 7.45pm as Darragh Maloney will be joined by Liam Brady and Damien Richardson for expert reviews and analysis of all the action at Alberto Braglia Stadium. The coverage will begin at 7.30pm with commentary by Adrian Eames and Eoin Hand.

RDS DUBLIN HORSE SHOW – FRI 6th AUG AT 1.50PM ON RTÉ ONE CONTINUES AT 5.40PM ON RTÉ TWO

From the best show horses to the best international show jumpers, the RDS Dublin Horse Show is one of the top international equestrian events. Presenter Robert Hall will be joined by John Hall and Tracy Piggott for the first of three days of coverage as eyes will be on the main arena for live coverage of the Meydan FEI Nations Cup. The world’s Top 10 show jumping teams will compete for the Aga Khan Trophy and €200,000 prize fund.

The Irish team of Cian O’Connor, Dermott Lennon, Billy Twomey and Denis Lynch recently claimed the Mercedes-Benz Prize, part of the Meydan FEI Nations Cup when storming to victory in Aachen, Germany in the sixth leg of the series, the men in green stood firm while their rivals crumbled in the closing stages.
