The April edition of The Irish Abroad features the story of Jane Hogan from West Clare, one of the survivors of the Lusitania which was sunk by a German U-Boat in 1915. Clare based singer songwriter PJ Murrihy sings ‘The Lusitania Survivor’, a song he composed in memory of this extraordinary woman. Collette Macken, Cultural Officer of the Hammersmith Irish Centre in West London tells us about the Center’s cultural programme for May and we discover what the Irish in Hungary.

There will also be music from The Chieftains new thematic album in memory of the San Patricio Regiment of Irish born soldiers who fought in the Mexican army in the 1800’s.
