Episode One of Six

Francis Brennan, leaves his beloved Park Hotel in Kerry and moves to the lake district of Athlone on Sunday 21st March, to take over the kitchen at the Wineport Lodge. Francis will take on the culinary challenge that is The Restaurant and launch the first show in a brand new series.

Back for its seventh series on RTÉ One, this year the series will see a fantastic line up as five celebrity foodies follow Francis Brennan during March and April. Tommy Bowe, the try-scoring winger of the Irish Rugby team, Sarah Newman, successful businesswoman and star of Dragons’ Den, Fintan O’Toole, author and political columnist, Daithi O Sé, TG4 Weatherman and star of the All Ireland Talent Show and Lorraine Keane, style icon and TV presenter will all step up to the plate at the Wineport Lodge.

First chef, Francis Brennan is the proprietor of the award winning 5-star Park Hotel in Kenmare. The gregarious Francis, along with his brother John, has become a familiar face on Irish TV thanks to their hugely successful RTÉ One series At Your Service. In the series, the straight talking brothers travel around the country giving advice to struggling hoteliers to help them turn their business round.

Francis is never shy about telling people what’s on his mind and what they are doing wrong when working, but his usual confidence in choosing menus was shaken a little when he realised that he might be on the receiving end of some criticism for a change ..

With critics Tom Doorley, Paulo Tullio and Kevin Thornton at the critics table, will sparks fly?
