Exploring four important subjects which have been grappled with by various churches and creeds, over the next few weeks, Marian and her expert panel join with representatives of the main faiths in Ireland, to pose the questions does God hate; sex, peace, women and science? The subjects are debated with passion, commitment and humour as the historical record and ideology of a range of diverse creeds and beliefs are rigorously explored.
Programme Three: Does God Hate…Women?
In the third programme of the series we ask the question does God hate women? From the days of Adam and Eve, woman has been associated with sin in the Bible. She has been made to cover her head, polarised in terms of depiction as a mother or prostitute as her only possible roles. Does the position of various churches on the roles of women represent prejudice? What motivates or informs this position? Marian Finucane is joined by panellists David Norris, David Quinn, Roisin Boyd and Roja Fazaeli, on Sunday October 11th at 10.30 p.m.
