Episode 104
TX: Sunday, June 28th, 2009.

Rachel rebukes Louie for behaving so childishly with Yvonne and laments that adults must argue so much. Rachel feels so guilty about the money her gerbil cost Louie that she decides to go and stay with Nicola in Cork until Niamh and Paul get home. Louie promises to Rachel that he will kiss and make up with Yvonne, as Rachel departs. Louie and Yvonne have a heart to heart where she confesses she just wants more of a business challenge than waitressing at the Hungry Pig.

Carol gets revenge on Eric. Barry finds out Eric let Ali re-sit the exam under false pretences. Barry reprimands Eric and threatens to report him. Ali tells Carol she is moving out so as to give Lorcan a better start in life. Kylie advises Ali to tread carefully before cutting off family because she knows from experience how painful it can be.

Keith strings Ray along with his ‘Sex’ books online sales scam, saying he will stall his rent payment and use it as capital. Further flexing his entrepreneurial muscles, Keith sells the jacket he bought for €20 at the Helping Hand to Dean for €50. Keith persuades Jo to let him buy fifty ‘Sex’ books outright.

Saoirse withdraws her laptop’s services after arguing with Keith about profit share. Ray gets rattled his reputation will be tarnished if it gets out he’s been helping scam the charity shop. Saoirse does her best to intimidate Ray into reinstating her but fails. Saoirse rats Keith and Ray out to Jo.

Louie makes Yvonne a new business offer she can’t refuse – opening a new restaurant above Rainbows in the evenings. With a view to getting Suzanne on side for the new Rainbows direction, Yvonne makes a plea for a renewed bond with Suzanne who unfortunately rejects her sister in no uncertain terms.

Ali and Carol reconcile in a meaningful way and make resolutions for the future.

Jo confronts Keith, who disparages Saoirse on the spot. Jo tells Keith their deal with the ‘Sex’ books is off.

Episode 105
TX: Tuesday, June 30th, 2009.

Ray asks not to be included in Keith’s ongoing ‘Sex’ books scam as Keith is salivating at what he thinks are his lucrative prospects. Sarah notes what Keith is up to and is thoroughly disapproving.

Louie proposes to Suzanne that they make the upstairs of Rainbows a new eatery at night. Suzanne rejects this proposal out of hand but Damien later suggests she should be more pliant with Louie. Damien and Orla bemoan their patchy employment prospects together.

Duncan confides in Sarah that he’s been evicted by his room-mate from Tipperary. Sarah makes it clear that Duncan is not welcome to stay at her place. Orla pops into the Northside Post to ask if there’s any PR work. Sarah assumes Orla would be interested in a part time job as Barry’s secretary (a role which Sarah is sick of unofficially fulfilling), but Orla does not take kindly to this suggestion which she obviously considers beneath her. Duncan clues Barry in to his homeless situation.

Keith hires Doug as an accomplice to make Dolores feel even more uncomfortable about selling the ‘Sex’ books at the Helping Hand. Dean tries to get in on the action but Keith is not interested in sharing his projected profits.

Jo fires Ray from the Helping Hand. Ray blames Keith for getting him fired from his voluntary work at the Helping Hand and asks him to settle the monetary matter of the ‘Sex’ books in the hope that he’ll be reinstated. Keith finds Jo unwilling to negotiate her staffing issues with him. Keith catches Dolores unawares and manipulates her into to selling him all the copies of ‘Sex’ for €10 apiece, outraging Jo.

Louie and Yvonne strategize as to when to approach Suzanne again about the Tapas Bar project at Rainbows. Yvonne tells Bela about the offer she made Suzanne and tells him Rainbows is in a downward spiral. Bela tells Yvonne she might be better off taking the offer. Louie advises Yvonne to keep the peace with Suzanne or he’s out of the deal.

Duncan solicits Ray for a night’s accommodation. Ray agrees reluctantly. Caitriona is hurt and angry that Ray would have any dealings with Duncan. Ray tells Duncan he has changed his mind and cant let him stay after all because he broke Caitriona’s heart. Duncan sleeps at the Northside Post.

Keith tells Ray he was unsuccessful in securing his job back for him but that he will take him on an all expense paid holiday to make it up to him. Keith crows about his prospects with the ‘Sex’ scam.

Jo gets Ray on side against Keith by giving him his job back. Jo, Saoirse and Ray devise a plan to undercut Keith on Ebay. When Keith finds out, he is shocked that Ray has joined forces with the enemy.

Jo offers Orla a job doing PR for a children’s art camp at the Community Centre. Orla declines.

Damien convinces Suzanne she should consider the profit angle of the Tapas Bar over any other considerations.

Episode 106
TX: Wednesday, July 1st, 2009.

Barry tells Duncan that sleeping at the office is a firing offence. Barry denies Duncan an advance so he can book into a B&B, incurring Sarah’s disapproval. Duncan nicks Caitriona’s house keys and removes one before returning them. Duncan tells Ray he has found a place to stay.

Bela pressures Damien to get Suzanne to agree to the Tapas project. Suzanne makes a move and meets Louie. Yvonne tells Louie to drive a hard bargain. Suzanne tries to play hardball, citing Geraldine’s emergence as a potential investor, but the negotiations quickly go sour with Louie calling Suzanne’s bluff. Louie returns to Suzanne later and capitulates to her figures. Louie tells Yvonne the good news that he has secured the upstairs of Rainbows for her new tapas bar.

Saoirse finds Doug working for Keith for free – while Paul’s away. Saoirse goads Doug into getting a better deal out of Keith. Doug succumbs again to Keith’s ruthlessness disguised as charm. Ray feels uncomfortable as Saoirse goes into overdrive trying to avenge the charity shop by beating Keith at his own Ebay game.

Ray offers Keith one last shot at salvaging this situation but Keith shrugs him off. Keith discovers that Ebay has been flooded with ‘Sex’ for one cent by the Helping Hand, in front of Saoirse. Keith goes after Ray whom he assumes is the culprit. Ray, riled up by Keith’s insults, wont be backing down any time soon.

Orla meets with criticism for turning her nose up at jobs. Orla tells Jo she will take the PR job Jo offered. Suzanne and Orla muscle Damien into assisting Orla as a children’s entertainer.

Squatting in Gina’s house, Duncan is startled to discover Barry who has been sneaking into the house periodically to grieve and work out his feelings of responsibility for her accident.

Episode 107
TX: Thursday, July 2nd, 2009.

Duncan is perplexed when Barry acts as if their spooky encounter last night never happened. Sarah is disgusted when Barry gives Duncan a big assignment for the newspaper. Sarah quizzes Duncan as to how Barry had a change of heart towards him and asks if Duncan is blackmailing Barry.

When Duncan suggests to Barry that they talk over the accidental encounter in Gina’s, Barry pretends he does not know what Duncan is talking about and suggests Duncan should get psychiatric help. Duncan ricochets that insult right back at Barry. Barry reallocates the journalistic assignment to Sarah who demands to know what is going on.

Yvonne tempts both Cleo and Dean with the possibility of taking on the chef’s role at her new tapas bar. Louie criticises her divisive tactics. Yvonne loves the sample menu Cleo devises. Dean proposes a cook-off challenge to see who is the better chef for the Tapas Bar. Louie chides Yvonne for wasting his employees’ time. Yvonne tells Louie she wants Cleo as chef for the Tapas Bar. Louie instead proposes to give Cleo and Dean a raise in exchange for them working the two restaurants, cooking from the Hungry Pig kitchen. The two youngsters feel pressured to go along with this.

When Jo produces a cartoonish costume for Damien and face paints for Orla to apply, Orla decides to quit, losing Damien the job as well. Damien talks Orla into going through with the job. Orla is sullen and embarrassed as she goes through the required motions at the Community Centre and warns Jo not to aggravate her any further or she’ll walk.

Keith feels isolated by Saoirse at home and at the garage. Keith fails to reconcile with Jo and Dolores. Keith fails to get Cleo and Dean to inflate the bidding price of the books on Ebay for him. Keith finds out the books he’s selling on Ebay are in fact fake, as an angry buyer demands a refund. Keith approaches Jo, Dolores, Ray and Saoirse and tells them the deflating end result of his scheme.

Barry owns up to Duncan that he has been visiting the Cassidy’s for some time, processing his grief. Barry says Duncan can stay with him if he promises not to tell anyone.
