Memories of yet another eventful GAA Championship year will come flooding back in The Road to Croker 2008 Review, from the coup against Justin McCarthy in Waterford, through to Tyrone’s destruction of Kerry’s three-in-a-row dream.
This special 90 minute programme will be reviewing all the high and lows of the championship year, with action from all the big games, as well as interviews with the many guests who appeared on The Road to Croker over the summer, including Joe Canning, Diarmuid O’Sullivan, Jason Ryan, Alan Brogan, Justin McCarthy, Davy Fitzgerald, Mick O’Dwyer, Matty Forde and Eoin Kelly.
The programme also offers a chance to see the highlights of one of the television events of the year; the presenting début of Bertie Ahern, who stood in for Des Cahill while he was at the Olympics Games in Beijing.
The show will include the best of The Road to Croker’s features from the summer, with a look back on the inaugural Master Marksmen competition which included stars from the past like Eddie Keher, Gary Kirby and Larry Tompkins, as well as Frank McNally’s take on the possible return of recession GAA. You can also find out what happened when some of the games’ biggest stars like Tomás Ó Sé and Henry Shefflin faced the Road to Croker’s specially-commissioned player survey … with a twist!
The perfect fix for the action-starved GAA fan over the holiday period, The Road to Croker 2008 Review supplies the bookend to another eventful GAA season and whets the appetite for a new year that promises more of the same.
