Episode 120
Sunday 27th July 2008
Caitriona and Duncan have stayed the night in Kylie’s, but Kylie makes it clear that this was a one-off. Duncan lies about sorting out a mate’s place. A delighted Caitriona marches back to Gina’s and moves out without a backward glance.
After the last pre-marriage session things are frosty between Keith and Una. Fr Martin doesn’t think they should continue with the course. He suggests they try private counselling instead. Keith resists but eventually is talked around.
At the first session they talk through Una’s miscarriage and reconcile. Keith and Una agree to a longer engagement.
Despite Suzanne’s objections Damien persuades Mike to let him quote for the work on the Bistro refurbishment.
Having been dumped by Rory, Carol has been on a bender. When she doesn’t show up for work Tracey goes to check on her, but Carol turns on her again.
Things hot up as Rory continues to pursue a resisting Niamh. When she finds out that he really has finished with Carol she agrees to a date.
Later in McCoys, Niamh recognises Duncan as the laptop thief and confronts him. While Caitriona is out of earshot she tells him she doesn’t want to see him around her sister ever again or she’ll turn him in to the Gardai. Duncan hastily finishes with a devastated Caitriona.
Geraldine’s shock at being thrown out turns to anger when she sees the effect it’s having on Owen. She confronts Mike about the way he’s treating them but he remains cool and remote. Later she demands her money back – if he’s throwing her out she’s taking her money with her. Mike hadn’t seen this coming and is now worried.
Orla arrives back to the flat find Rory and Niamh in a passionate clinch on the couch – she’s not happy.
Episode 121
Tuesday 29th July 2008
After a night of passion Niamh wakes to find Rory is gone, but the romance continues at full tilt when they meet later and the flirtation continues.
At the garage Paul and Ali are at loggerheads when Paul loses her a sale.
Meanwhile Ali’s Uncle Mick turns up at the garage. He’s out of prison and looking for a place to stay while he gets on his feet. Although he claims he’s on the straight now Ali isn’t so sure, but she won’t see him stuck.
Carol continues to fall apart. Tracey gently suggests that she pull herself together but it falls on deaf ears. When a rough-looking Carol meets Ali in the street Ali gives her the brush-off.
Kylie’s money problems get worse and she calls around to Tracey to ask for a loan. Tracey is gobsmacked to hear she needs €2,000. Although Tracey urges her to ask Dominic for the money she refuses and makes Tracey promise not to tell him about her money problems.
Damien is delighted when he gets the Bistro job but when Dominic pumps him for information about it he may just have given too much away.
Bob persuades a reluctant Renee that it’s time to go back to work. Although she tries, it quickly becomes apparent that it’s too soon and she’s not able for it.
A furious Dermot returns from holidays and finds out that Mike has thrown Geraldine out and threatened her with the guards. He confronts Mike about it but Mike sends him away with a flea in his ear.
As Dominic counts the money from his cash box an anxious Tracey watches and decides that there’s only one thing she can do to help Kylie. When he leaves Tracey takes money out of the box.
Carol offers to mind Lorcan instead of Ali putting him into the crèche but Ali tells her she doesn’t want him around Carol.
Episode 122
Wednesday 30th July 2008
Carol’s a mess. She consults Farrell about access to Lorcan and he tells her to clean up her act and be nice to Ali if she wants to continue to see her grandson.
Tracey gives Kylie the money she took from Dominic, along with all her savings – although it’s still not enough for the rent. She presses Kylie to tell Dominic but she stubbornly refuses.
Renee wants to get away from Carrickstown for a while. Bob is supportive until he realises Renee wants him to go with her. They’ll have to advertise for an acting manager to look after things while they’re away.
Despite Tracey’s concerns Dominic undercuts Damien for the Bistro job. When Damien and Suzanne find out they are furious at Mike for messing them around.
Ali and Paul continue to be at loggerheads but Robin now decides that Paul will mentor Ali and that he’s in charge – much to her annoyance. Mick turns up at the garage and offers to hook Ali up with a much cheaper supplier. Ali suspects it might be a dodgy connection but doesn’t want to pass up on a chance to get one up on Paul. Ali doesn’t do herself any favours when Robin catches her pulling a sickie.
As Niamh and Rory continue to get cosy Paul’s not impressed. Is he jealous?
Mike tells Geraldine that Fusion 2 is on the market and she’ll have her money.
An anxious Tracy realises that now Dominic has the Bistro job he’ll need supplies and will notice the missing money. Panicked she asks Kylie for the money back but it’s too late, Kylie has given it to Robin.
Carol decides to clean up her act. She tidies up the flat and decides to apply for the job in McCoys. Tracey and Kylie were both hoping to apply for the same job but Carol is confident it’s in the bag, until Bob tells her that with all the bad publicity around her she’s unemployable in the pub trade. A furious Carol storms out.
Meanwhile Dominic realises money is missing from the cash box.
Tracey is gobsmacked when Bob then asks her to take the job. Although she doesn’t want to be disloyal to Carol, Dominic persuades her to take it. But later when Carol arrives in McCoys to find Tracey working there she causes a scene and Bob throws her out.
Episode 123
Thursday 31st July 2008
Dominic suspects that Tracey has taken the money but she rushes out to work before he can talk to her about it.
Carol tries to apologise to Tracey for her outburst in McCoy’s but makes things worse when Tracey confides in her about the money. Tracey angrily walks away.
Damien is still furious with Dominic for stealing the Bistro job, but Suzanne blames him for blabbing. She still has a go at Dominic about it later when she sees him. He offers Damien a job on the project but Damien doesn’t want to know. Suzanne urges him to reconsider and eventually Damien meets Dominic and they agree verbally to share profits on the job.
Later Dominic comes into McCoy’s and Tracey admits she took the money and why. When Dominic wants to meet Kylie she knows Tracey has told him. Kylie tackles her about this but Tracey abruptly tells her to sign on and start looking for work.
Dominic tells Robin that Kylie will be quitting the flat and pays off her remaining rent. He tells a worried Kylie that she has no choice but to move home.
There’s trouble brewing in McCoy’s when Gina objects to taking orders from Tracey.
Carol goes to the garage to sell her car but Ali thinks she’s there to talk about Lorcan and avoids her. Instead Paul does a deal with Carol and Ali is furious that Carol didn’t give her business to her.
At the garage Paul is on a roll but there’s no sign of Ali, who is planning to get Mick to source used cars from his connection. Paul leaves early to pick up Oisin who is staying with them for a few days.
