RTÉ Television’s comprehensive coverage of the 2008 RBS Six Nations continues this weekend as Ireland take on Wales at 1.15pm live from Croke Park with commentary by Ryle Nugent and Ralph Keyes. The afternoon’s action then continues with Scotland v England live from Murrayfield at 3.15pm with commentary by George Hamilton and Scott Hastings. Tom McGurk will be joined in studio by George Hook, Brent Pope and Conor O’Shea for lively discussion and expert analysis of all the day’s action.

EIRCOM LEAGUE LIVE – SAT 8th MAR AT 5.25PM ON RTÉ TWO

As the new FAI eircom League of Ireland season kicks off this weekend, Con Murphy is joined by Roddy Collins and Dave Barry as current League of Ireland champions Drogheda Utd take on Shamrock Rovers live from United Park. Darragh Maloney and Pat Morley provide the commentary, as two of the sides expected to battle it out for the title this year meet.

THE IRISH POKER CHAMPIONSHIP – SUN 2nd MAR AT 11.25PM ON RTÉ TWO

Laura Woods presents the fifth in a six-part series featuring The Irish Poker Championship from Galway. The Irish Poker Championship attracted 300 players from both Ireland and the rest of the World all trying for a piece of the Euro 600,000 prize pool. This week we’re down to 36 from the 300 entrants who made the trip to Galway for this major Irish poker tournament. The remaining players are now a step closer to taking home a payout which starts at 26th position and so the tension is building. The voice of poker Jesse May provides the commentary.

MOTO GP HIGHLIGHTS – SUN 9th MAR AT 00.25AM ON RTÉ TWO

Peter Collins and Eddie Laycock present Moto GP highlights from the Grand Prix of Qatar. The first race of the 2008 Championship takes place at the fabulous Losail International Circuit on the outskirts of Doha, the capital city of Qatar.

This week on OB Sport Marty Morrissey presents a special programme from Pescara, Italy as Ireland’s boxing team compete in a crucial Olympic Qualifying tournament. The best of Ireland’s amateur boxers are set to take part and hope to earn a place in Ireland’s Olympic team alongside fellow boxer Paddy Barnes who has already qualified.

Joanne Cantwell presents reviews and analysis of all the weekend’s RBS 6 Nation’s action including Ireland’s final home game of the Championship in Croke Park against an impressive Welsh team. Con Murphy introduces live coverage of the opening day of racing from the Cheltenham Festival including the feature race, The Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle as last year’s winners Sublimity and Sizing Europe head the betting for prize. The Cheltenham Festival is the most prestigious meeting in the National Hunt racing calendar and has prize money second only to the Grand National. It is an event where many of the best Irish and British horses race against each other.
