EPISODE ONE – “Into the Cold”

Packed with fascinating archive footage – this follow-on of the War Stories series narrated once again by the inimitable Cathal O Shannon, focuses on Korea.  This first episode of four, concentrates on the start of the Cold War and the invasion by the North Korean Army into the South. As U.S. and U.N. forces were called to arms, the story is told through the eyes of Tom O Keefe (Royal Navy);  Harry O’Mara (7th Infantry Division, American Army) and John Hawkins (3rd Royal Australian Regiment). They recount in moving detail their first impressions of the country, the dreadful conditions they found themselves in and of the fierce combat they engaged in there.
