Another chance to catch this week’s OB Sport as Marty Morrissey reports on the GAA Ladies All Stars Football team as they visit Dubai, and reflects on the growing role that the Irish are having on the emergence of sport in this booming country. The programme also features highlights of Ireland’s winning performances at the Men’s hockey Olympic Qualifying Tournament in New Zealand.

SIX NATIONS – SAT 23rd FEB AT 2.15PM ON RTÉ TWO

It’s an action packed RBS 6 Nations day with the first of the tournament’s triple headers and the RTÉ Television team will be right at the heart of the action bringing viewers live coverage and analysis of all three matches. Tom McGurk will be joined in studio by George Hook, Brent Pope and Conor O’Shea for lively discussion and expert analysis of all the day’s action. First up it’s Wales v Italy live from the Millennium Stadium at 3.00pm with commentary by Gary Moran and Tony Clement.

This will be followed by the highlight of the day as Ireland take on Scotland live from Croke Park in the second of this year’s home games at the stadium. The match kicks off at 5.00pm with commentary by George Hamilton and Tony Ward. In the third of the day’s games it’s France v England live from Stade de France at 8.00pm with commentary by Ryle Nugent and Ralph Keyes.

 

THE PREMIERSHIP – SAT 23rd FEB AT 10.15PM ON RTÉ TWO

Darragh Maloney will be joined by Ray Houghton and John Giles for expert reviews and analysis of all the day’s Premier League action including highlights of Newcastle United v Manchester United, Liverpool v Middlesborough, Birmingham v Arsenal and Portsmouth v Sunderland. Commentary by Jimmy Magee, Ger Canning, Stephen Alkin and Gabriel Egan.

 

SUNDAY SPORT – SUN 24th FEB AT 8.00PM ON RTÉ TWO

Michael Lyster will be joined by Martin Carney and Cyril Farrell for highlights of the AIB Club Football and Hurling semi-finals. Highlights of the football action kicks off as Ballina take on Nemo Rangers in Ennis and St Vincents face Crossmaglen Rangers at Navan. The hurling semi final’s see Portumna meet Loughmore-Castleiney at the Gaelic Grounds and Birr against Offaly in Clones.

 

THE IRISH POKER CHAMPIONSHIP – SUN 24th FEB AT 11.30PM ON RTÉ TWO

Laura Woods presents the third in a six part series featuring The Irish Poker Championship from Galway. The Irish Poker Championship attracted 300 players from both Ireland and the rest of the World all trying for a piece of the Euro 600,000 prize pool. The week’s programme starts with a predominantly Irish feature table which includes World Series of Poker Final Table Scott Gray and sees the return of World Series of Poker Bracelet winner Ciaran O’Leary. The voice of poker Jesse May provides the commentary.

 

AGAINST THE HEAD – MON 25th FEB AT 8.00PM ON RTÉ TWO

Presenter Joanne Cantwell will be joined by David Corkery and Brendan Fanning to bring you reviews and analysis of all the RBS 6 Nation’s action including Ireland’s home game against Scotland in Croke Park. The panel will also look back and offer views on action from Ireland’s Club International clash with Scotland in Donnybrook.
