GEORGE LEE IN CHINA is a new four part series which tells the story of the effects of China’s economic boom through its people.  The four part series sees George Lee travelling across China and meeting people from different walks of life whose daily lives are being transformed by this economic boom.  George meets new television stars like Chen Lu Yu, China’s Oprah Winfrey;  China’s richest woman, Zhang Yin,  the billionairess and owner of the paper re-cycling company Nine Dragons; and he spends time with some of the country’s 150 million migrants who comprise the greatest migration in human history.  The series also meets some of our new Chinese / Irish community as they bring their experiences of life here back to China.   GEORGE LEE IN CHINA offers a compelling portrait of normal daily life behind the bamboo curtain.

Programme Two

Tonight’s programme looks at how Chinese women are more influenced these days by Sex in the City rather than Mao’s little red book.  We also follow Mr and Mrs Yu from Cork and their son Tao back to their original home in the Hubei Province of China
