In this fifth programme of Vets on Call – Mayo, the vets of the Crossmolina Veterinary Clinic are enjoying a quiet Spring, with good weather forecasting an easier spell for both Eamonn Connor and Siobhan O’Malley

Eamonn is dealing in multiples this week with twin and triplet births, And of course no Spring would be complete without the compulsory 3am calls, as Siobhan comes to the aid of a young pregnant heifer.

For Eamonn’s wife Gillian, the decision to breed their beautiful golden retriever Jenny is proving difficult. With five young children and nosy sheepdogs getting in the way at home, Gillian and Jenny flee to Navan, hoping that 63 days later there might be as many as a dozen new additions to the Connor household!

Siobhan faces the danger of wild cattle head on as she deals with two patients that are very reluctant to let her help them, while Eamonn is called out after dark to a mare with an unfinished delivery.
