Over the 8 week series experienced midwife and parenting coach Doreen Buckley, along with selected guest experts, advises parents and, in a wider context, explores how the arrival of a baby and emerging childhood transforms the family dynamic forever.

Tonight Doreen meets Spanish-Irish couple Irma Fernandez and Gerry Kavanagh and their son Jake, who was born in March 2007.  Irma and Gerry are coping with a new baby, a new home and a new job for Gerry.

Doreen advises the couple on how to cope with a newborn, how life changes with the new arrival and offers some practical advice on adjusting to the changes.  Irma also gets help with setting up a Mummy Toddler group.

And when the couple plan to bring baby home to visit Irma’s family in Spain, Doreen is on hand with advice on what to pack for baby when travelling abroad
