Have you ever imagined what your life would be like without you?How would the man or woman in your life cope, if you weren’t around for a week?
Bride-to-be Alison Cahill, from Dublin, is about to find out as she leaves her fiancé to fend for himself for a week.
In this six part series, a person is removed from their home or workplace and sent on a week-long retreat to the picturesque Life Without Me villa, in the south of Spain.
While the person is away, we will see how those left behind cope without them. Will everything run smoothly or fall apart? Or could it be a case of while the cat’s away the mouse will play? This week Alison Cahill will put her fiancé CJ Hollenbach to the test.
Alison and CJ have been together for three years and hate being apart. CJ (25), is from South Africa and works long hours as an apprentice carpenter. Alison (29), works for a software company.
Money is tight, and since CJ proposed the couple has been saving every spare cent to fund their big day in September. They can’t afford to go out with friends, so, as a result, spend every evening together. However, Alison is on her own when it comes to organising their lives. She co-ordinates everything from shopping and bills to the wedding day – and is stressed out.
Alison wants to find out how CJ would cope if she weren’t around; and she’s set him an enormous challenge. She wants her disorganised fiancée to find the couple a new apartment and move in! On top of that CJ must also continue with the wedding preparations.
While Alison uses the time-out in Spain to assess her life and impending marriage, CJ will have to be organised to avoid being homeless on Alison’s return.
Can he prove he will be a reliable husband in the future? Or will the temptation of pints with the lads get in the way of his plans? This Friday night Alison will see for herself.
