As always, Ken is up for a bit of messing, so the Anonymous crew decided to put him bang in the middle of his own hood. Thus, it came to pass that Ken got to spend a day walking the streets of Ranelagh, as Fr Sean Donoghue, the newly appointed parish priest.
It was a busy Anonymous day for Ken, (aka Fr. Sean) as he set about trying to recruit his own mother to put rosary beads in cakes so he could smuggle them into prisons. He then pops into the chemist looking for certain feminine hygiene products for his house keeper, amongst other adventures.
However, it’s in the second half of the show that we get to the real meat of the action as the good father takes part in our fake new TV show, “Unholy Orders”.
The Anonymous crew told people “Unholy Orders” was a new series, presented by former nun, Anna Nolan, that saw members of the clergy in some unlikely situations – nuns sky diving, priests rapping etc. – and that for the first episode we were going to transform three priests into full-on snooker aces.
Thus we ended up with a masked-up Ken being taught the finer points of the game by his unsuspecting coach and mentor of twenty years, Paddy Miley. But Paddy’s only the start! After we reveal Ken to Paddy, see Ken play his own practice partner, Robbie Murphy. Once again, crafty Ken pulls it off.
All of which stands him in good stead for the big one when he goes face-to-mask with snooker legend, Alex Higgins in a game that’s sure to go down in the annals of Irish sport, or if not, at least the annals of Ken.
