Episode 52
Sunday 1st April
Cleo prepares to go back to school, but is quite nervous. She invites Barry around for dinner to say thanks, and tells Pierce he has to come too!
Carol goes to work but frets about leaving Ali alone with the baby. Jimmy calls around to see her and arrives just as she’s having a tough moment. He helps her out feeding the baby for her and really cheers her up.
Fiona meets up with Paul and asks him if he’d like to go to Cork with her. He tells her he’s going to Paris with Rachel, and she tells him she’ll miss him.
Carol is a little cool with Ali when she arrives home to find Jimmy bottle feeding baby Lorcan. Ali tells her that breast feeding was too hard for her. Carol tells her that she just found it hard seeing Jimmy with the baby, and wished Lorcan could hold him.
Cleo’s dinner is a great success as Pierce, Dolores and Barry are very impressed with her efforts.
Jimmy neglects to tell Robin that he spent the afternoon helping Ali, and lies about where he was.
Episode 53
Tuesday 3rd April
James goes to see Brendan, telling him that his symptoms aren’t improving with the medication. Brendan is puzzled, but tells him he needs another test.
Fiona tries to persuade Paul to go to a motor show with her in Belfast at the weekend. He agrees to try and make plans for it.
Ray, Mondo and Angela go to collect Ray’s test results. Ray is told that the cancer hasn’t spread outside his prostate and that it’s treatable.
Keith tells Jimmy that Ray rushed off to an appointment with Mondo and Angela earlier. He tells him that he thinks he’s seriously ill. They both worry about him.
Mike hires Magda to work as a waitress in the Bistro. Gordon takes a shine to her, and is delighted with his choice.
Ray tells Keith that he has prostate cancer, but it’s treatable. Keith is shocked, but relieved to hear he can get better. Ray is chuffed with his concern.
Just as everyone is celebrating Ray’s good news, Professor Clegg arrives in to talk to Brendan. He tells him that James Piggot’s and Ray’s initial test results got mixed up, and James has cancer. Brendan is in shock.
Episode 54
Wednesday 4th April
Magda starts working in the Bistro, and takes Gordon’s flirtatious behaviour with a pinch of salt.
Robin goes back to work after her back injury, but obviously isn’t 100% better. Jimmy sends her over to the new sales lot to help Paul out.
Professor Clegg arranges to meet both James and Ray. James is shocked to find out he has cancer. James is furious to hear that a mistake was made with his test results and he’s been ill all along.
Ray is shocked to hear that he doesn’t or has never had cancer.
Keith hears that Paul and Fiona are both going to the motor show in Belfast. He warns Paul, but Paul tells him that the affair is still over.
Ray is very emotional while celebrating his good news. He tells Christy he now realises how important his family are, and he thinks he and Angela are ready to start again.
Brendan talks to James about his news. James tells him he’s not telling Fiona until he’s gotten the results of the bone scan.
Episode 55
Thursday 5th April
Ray asks Keith if he’ll take Una out so he can have a family dinner in the apartment. Keith agrees to make himself scarce for the evening.
Robin nervously starts trying to sell cars, with Paul’s guidance. She is delighted when she sells her first car.
Jo is surprised to see Magda working in the Bistro and tells Mike that she used to work for Dermot, but it didn’t work out. Geraldine says that they should keep an eye on her.
Paul leaves Robin holding the fort in the garage while he seizes the opportunity to spend the afternoon with Fiona.
James is down in the dumps, but doesn’t tell Fiona anything.
Ray enjoys the family dinner with Angela and Mondo. He tells Angela that he’s ready for a relationship again, if she’ll have him, but is mortified when he realises he’s misread the signals completely.
Mike confronts Ken about undermining his authority when he buys Owen a present Mike had refused him. Ken tells him that he’s his father, but sarcastically tells him he would never dream of undermining him.
Gordon invites himself out for drinks with Magda and her friends, but is disappointed when Magda leaves early.
