RTÉ YOUNG PEOPLES: The brand new animation series Ugly Duckling and Me continues, Sattitude goes biking mad and Kathryn welcomes four friend

 

UGLY DUCKLING AND ME – Sundays at 11.00am on The Loft and Fridays at 2.00pm on RTÉ TWO

“Ugly Duckling and Me” is a brand new animation series to RTÉ which has just been nominated for Best Children’s / Youth Programme in the forthcoming IFTAs.

Imagine a world full of wonderful, polite, intelligent animals – well ‘Ugly Duckling and Me’ is something altogether different. It follows the day-to-day struggles of single-parent Ratso trying to raise Ugly, a young duckling. Normally, rats would never be allowed within howling distance of the duck yard, but Ratso has got special status because he claims to be Ugly’s “father”. We also meet such wonderful characters as Mayor Esmeralda, Pox, Wing, Soup, Peep and many more. Produced by Galway animators Magma Films, ‘Ugly Duckling and Me’ brings us an exciting twist on the story of the Ugly Duckling.

 

SATTITUDE – Saturday 20th Jan at 10.00am on The Den on RTÉ Two

This Saturday, Sattitude goes biking mad, featuring some Irish cycling and biking heroes, unique bikes and biking skills not to mention biking challenges and hilarity.

 

DEN TOTS – Weekdays at 9.00am on The Den on RTÉ Two

Emma and Soky go HAND mad this week. They make hand picture frames, have a special mime theatre, learn some sign language, and make a hand rainbow.

 

THE LOFT – Sunday 21st Jan at 9.35am on The Den on RTÉ Two

Kathryn welcomes four friends from Co. Dublin on to The Loft, Ireland’s only chat show for children. Ciara, Grace, Dylan and Niall all go to the same school. They tell viewers all about their local area, their hobbies, including dance and gymnastics, and their favourite holiday trip. Meanwhile Dylan shows off his pet snake Scally.

The Loft also features Irish made cartoon Ugly Ducking and Me as well as Pitt and Kantrop, Classic Cartoon, Tiny Toon Adventures and Totally Spies.

 

TTV – Weekdays at 5.30pm on RTÉ Two

Aidan Power chats to special guest Dr Mark Hamilton, from RTÉ series ‘How Long Will You Live’ on Friday, January 26th on TTV. He finds out the doctors top three favourite things. Aidan also keeps viewers up to speed on music, movies, events and entertainment as well as featuring Irish people with a story to tell.
