RTÉ is pleased to announce the appointment of journalist Sinead Crowley to the post of Arts and Media Correspondent.

Sinead joined RTÉ in 1997 as a reporter in Irish language programmes, moving to the RTÉ Newsroom as a journalist two years later.  She has since worked in all areas of News, most particularly on the television side and is currently working with The Week in Politics and the 9 o’clock News.

A fluent Irish speaker, Sinead is from Walkinstown in Dublin and gained a Communications degree from Dublin City University in 2003, followed by a Masters in Women’s Studies in UCD.

She began work as a reporter and film reviewer with the Northside People and later worked on Irish language station, Raidio na Life.  She has also been a reporter on local radio stations, Clare FM and Radio Kerry.

She says of her new role “I am absolutely delighted about this new job. I have always been hugely passionate about the Arts, both in my professional and personal life and with a degree in Communications, I can bring this side into the factual area of the Media as well.”
