The second programme in the current series of Crimecall hits our screens on Tuesday, October 31st. Anne Cassin and Con Murphy host this popular show, which plays a valuable role in assisting Gardaí with investigations, while keeping the public informed about crime and crime prevention.
This month’s programme features reconstructions of a number of assaults on women that have taken place in Limerick city area in recent months. The assaults are deemed to be unrelated, and the Gardaí are looking for the public’s help with these ongoing cases.
In August of this year there was an attempted robbery of a securicor van in Westport, Co Mayo. The man responsible was foiled in his attempt, and Crimecall will be reconstructing this attempted robbery in the hope that the public may be able to help identify the man involved. There is also excellent CCTV footage of the event.
There will be a special feature in this month’s Crimecall on the death of Meg Walsh. The body of Meg Walsh was recovered from the River Suir in Waterford on October 15th. Meg had been missing on October 1st. In this feature, friends of Meg will be interviewed, we will look at how to case unfolded, and the Gardaí will appeal to the public for any information they may have that can help in this case.
Viewers who have information that may help with any of these investigations are encouraged to call the Crimedesk. The number to call is 1800 40 50 60, and lines remain open until midnight.
