WORLD CUP MATCHES
SAT 17 JUN, 1.30PM, RTÉ TWO
The first match of the day sees the clash between Portugal V Iran in Frankfurt at 2.00pm. Peter Collins is joined by Kenny Cunningham and Denis Irwin with commentary by Darragh Maloney and Tevor Steven.
The first of the days Group E live clashes will feature Czech Republic V Ghana in Cologne at 5.00pm. Commentary by Stephen Alkin and Mark Kinsella. This will be followed by Italy V USA also in Group E from Kaiserslautern at 8.00pm with commentary by George Hamilton and Ray Houghton. Bill O’Herlihy will be joined by Liam Brady and John Giles to discuss both matches.
The Après Match team will also be continuing with their unique insight into the World Cup.
There will also be a report from Kaiserslautern by the new addition to RTÉ’s World Cup coverage for this year. Gatecrasher with sports broadcaster Ger Gilroy will be touring around Germany in a camper van, giving viewers an alternative look at the sights and sounds of the greatest show on earth.

The second of the days match from Group F then begins with Brazil V Australia live from Munich at 5.00pm with commentary by Darragh Maloney and Trevor Steven. This will then be followed by Frances V South Korea live from Leipzig at 8.00pm in Group G with commentary by George Hamilton and Ray Houghton. Bill O’Herlihy will be joined by Eamon Dunphy, John Giles and Kenny Cunningham to review the evening matches.
Après Match will bring another report on how the World Cup is progressing from their expert take.

Group H clashes then dominate the day with Saudi Arabia V Ukraine live from Hamburg at 5.00pm with commentary by George Hamilton and Ray Houghton. Followed by Spain V Tunisia live from Stuttgart at 8.00pm with commentary by Darragh Maloney and Trevor Steven. Peter Collins will be joined by Graeme Souness and John Giles on the evening’s panel.
The Apres Match team will be back again and Ger Gilroy will be having an alternative look at events in Gatecrasher from the World Cup village at Munich.

One match will be broadcast live followed by highlights of the other match. The match which will be shown live will depend on the status of the teams within the groups following the first two games in each group.
Liam Brady, Eamon Dunphy, John Giles and Graeme Souness will then join Bill O’Herlihy for the evening games. Sweden taken on England in Group B at 8.00pm from Cologne while the second of the evenings clashes sees Paraguay V Trinidad & Tobago in Group C at 8.00pm from Kaiserslautern. One match will be broadcast live followed by highlights of the other match. The match which will be shown live will depend on the status of the teams within the groups following the first two games in each group.
