Presented by Sean Moncrieff, every Sunday night HQ — THE HOLIDAY QUIZ will visit a stunning city destination, and each week one lucky viewer will have the chance to win the family holiday of a lifetime.
HQ is a travel show with a difference. But it’s also a quiz show with a difference as, each week, seasoned traveller Sean Moncrieff visits a major city destination and, inspired by his explorations, asks ten questions aimed at testing the observational powers of alert viewers. All you have to do to enter is note down your multiple choice answers, and text them in at the end of the show.
But don’t worry: even the most unobservant can play HQ. A mobile phone icon at the bottom right of the screen will beep every time Sean is talking about something that might come up in a question later. And veteran broadcaster Larry Gogan is on hand to repeat the instructions often and clearly, especially for all those mobile-phobics out there.
Programme One: Sean visits London, UK capital and truly a world city. Watch out for upcoming programmes from Copenhagen, Sydney and New York.
How to Enter: HQ — THE HOLIDAY QUIZ is the show that offers viewers the chance to win an unforgettable holiday by simply texting in the correct answers to some simple questions.
The questions will be multiple choice (A, B or C), and although they won’t be too difficult you will have to pay attention if you want to get them right.
To play: you simply have to switch on your mobile and open up the message section. (Remembering to switch off predictive text!) Enter the letters HQ, and type a space. After that, you just punch in the correct answers as they come up, A B or C. No spaces, commas or full stops — just A B or C.
At the end of the show you should have the letters HQ, followed by a space, followed by a bunch of letters. Simply add your name, and then text your answer to 57000. Texts costs €1. Service provider is Phonovation (0818 217 100). Lines will close at 9 o’clock: if you’ve sent the correct combination of letters your name goes into a draw, with the winner being announced right after Sunday’s nine o clock news.
