RTÉ Music
RTÉ 2fm LIVE AT OXEGEN 2005
The world’s biggest bands
Ireland’s biggest outdoor festival
The country’s biggest radio production
Oxegen – you can’t live without it on RTÉ 2fm
The Killers; The Frames; James Brown; The Prodigy; Green Day; Foo Fighters; Keane; Kaiser Chiefs; The Saw Doctors; The Streets; Snoog Dogg and over 70 other acts across two days (9th and 10th July) and five stages at Punchestown Racecourse, make Oxegen the music event of the summer.
One radio station can handle an event this size and that is RTÉ 2fm. Dave Fanning, Conor G, Jenny Huston, Cormac Battle and Dan Hegarty will be the lucky ones bringing you all the live recordings and interviews with every artist they can get their hands on. No one else will have this kind of access to the stars over the weekend and you can take that to the bank……if you want.
It won’t all be fun and games however. We will have every mobile recording unit on the island at the event, and it will take us over three hundred CD and DAT tapes, not to mention miles of cables and gallons of tea and coffee, to make sure our transmissions by satellite and ISDN go off without a hitch.
From 6pm – 12 midnight on Saturday 9th July and from 2pm – midnight on Sunday 10th July, our team will cover all the best live performances and give you all the interviews you can handle. Sit back and take it easy, you’re going to have to do it all again the next day.
With acts as diverse as Queens of the Stone Age and New Order on offer over the weekend it just wouldn’t be fair to keep it all to ourselves. That’s why we’ll be sharing our coverage with BBC Northern Ireland and members of the Eurosonic Partnership all over the continent.
Thousands of Irish festival-goers won’t be holding back at Oxegen and neither will RTÉ 2fm. This will be the most impressive large-scale radio production in the country this year. Can you really afford to miss it?
