CONFEDERATIONS CUP


RTÉ’s coverage of the 2005 Confederations Cup continues on Saturday, as Keith O’Neill and Pat Dolan join Peter Collins for the clash of Argentina and Australia, with commentary from George Hamilton.  Pat Dolan and Trevor Steven join Peter in studio for highlights of Mexico v Brazil and Greece v Japan on Sunday evening, and again on Tuesday for live coverage of Argentina v Germany, with commentary for that match coming from George Hamilton and Brian Kerr.  On Wednesday Peter Collins presents live coverage as Japan take on World Champions Brazil, where again our commentary team is George Hamilton and Brian Kerr.  Eight countries take part in this year’s Confederations Cup, the precursor to the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

There’s a feast of football on this week’s programme with exclusive live coverage of two provincial semi-finals and deferred coverage of another.  First up is the Connacht semi-final between Mayo and Roscommon, with commentary from Ger Canning and Martin Carney followed by the Munster semi-final between Kerry and Limerick, with commentary from Marty Morrissey and Tony Davis.  Finally there’s full deferred coverage of the Leinster semi-final between Dublin and Wexford.  Joining Michael Lyster in studio for discussion and analysis are Colm O’Rourke and Joe Brolly.
