Lifestyle programming on RTÉ Television for Spring 2011

Operation Transformation
The hugely popular Operation Transformation returned to our screens at the beginning of January for a fourth series and has proven, once again, to be a ratings winner. Presented this year by Kathryn Thomas this series follows the progress of the five leaders as they work towards a healthier lifestyle.

Off The Rails
Off The Rails returns bigger and better than ever with a new hour-long format. This season Ireland’s favourite fashion team, Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney will hit the road with their catwalk on a mission to bring style to the nation. Each week one lucky viewer will receive a major makeover and walk away with a whole new wardrobe. For the first time Sonya and Brendan will go head to head in a fashion face off, whether it’s high end versus high street, looking fabulous for fifty quid or the generation game, this season fashion gets competitive. The show will also have all the latest fashion news, even more star style beauty, timeless tips and practical advice catering for all budgets as well as launching the search for Ireland’s style Queen.

(New) Roomers
Roomers is RTÉ’s newest interior design show presented by Neville Knott. Our team of Roomers, Karl, Anne-Marie and Joseph are professional interior designers who will help people achieve their dream rooms. Each week the designers will work with three different homeowners in the same area, each hoping to produce the best transformation and it’s the homeowners themselves who’ll decide.
Whether it’s a kitchen stuck in the 70s, a bland and boring living room or a bedroom on a bargain-basement budget the Roomers will use their style skills and expertise to come up with stunning interiors.

(New) Dirty Old Towns
Diarmuid Gavin is on a journey to clean up the towns of Ireland, using the power of people and the language of ideas.
Charleville, Co. Cork is the model town for the series, where Diarmuid lends his flair and creativity to regeneration projects that will inspire projects in other towns in the series.

Health Of The Nation
Returning for a new series of six half-hour programmes The Health Of The Nation clinic is once again on the move and this year it’ll be visiting Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Dr Mark Hamilton and Dr Nina Byrnes will be travelling Ireland with their specially created mobile clinic investigating the medical problems of the nation.

Families in the Wild
Families in the Wild returns with clinical psychologist David Coleman taking three individual families feeling the stresses and pressures of family life away from home to the isolation and tranquillity of the Kerry wilderness for a week of activities and therapy. Here each family member has the opportunity to get a fresh perspective on how they get on with each other and with David’s help they can begin to understand each other’s issues and needs as well as begin to communicate in a more positive way.

An Cór
An Cór features the experiences of hand picked choirs as they immerse themselves in the culture, language and history of traditional and well-known Irish songs. In each of the first three shows choirs compete against each other to learn, understand and rehearse different songs before the judges select one to go forward to the final.
Presenter Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain travels the country to learn about the background of the songs and also chats to the choirs as they attempt to impress the judging panel with their final polished version. The chosen three choirs compete in the final show, where only choir will be crowned the winner.

Martin’s Still Mad About Fish
Martin Shanahan is one of Ireland’s leading seafood chefs. Over the last 10 years he has had remarkable success with his restaurant ‘Fishy Fishy’ in Kinsale, Co. Cork.

Last year Martin became an instant star with his first TV series ‘Martin’s Mad About Fish’. His trademark simple recipes re-introduced Irish viewers to the joys of fish and his catchphrase ‘No skin, no bone, no fear’ took the mystery out of cooking fish.

In Series 2 Martin continues his mission to convert the fish-shy Irish over to the joys of eating the most healthy and tasty food in the world.

The Consumer Show
The Consumer Show returns with personal finance guru Eddie Hobbs and reporter/journalist Keelin Shanley exposing bad practice, dodgy dealing and rip-offs.

The Consumer Show is especially needed now, when unemployment is high and domestic budgets are tight. Keelin and Eddie will continue to find the truth, challenge injustice, uncover the scams and discover real value for money for Irish consumers.

Consumer Champion Tina Leonard also returns to give her expert advice and information. She will answer viewers questions on a weekly basis and hopefully find some good news stories.

The Consumer Show team will champion consumer causes on behalf of the public and will constantly strive for better service, better bargains and fairness for those who’ve been unfairly treated.
