DOCUMENTARY ON ONE: For the Love of Star Wars For the Love of Star Wars Matthew O'Brien has been counting down to Thursday 17th December 2015 for over a year now. That's the day when the new movie in the epic Star Wars saga - The Force Awakens - opens in cinemas worldwide. Matthew has been hooked on Star Wars since he was four years old. He has an enormous collection of memorabilia, can recite each scene verbatim and claims that he thinks of the movies as his Bible. In this documentary, Matthew invites us into his world; the passionate, committed and curious world of a serious Star Wars fan.
CÉILÍ HOUSE This Saturday’s programme is the final night of the All Ireland Senior Céilí Band Competition recorded at the fleadh in Sligo. Great excitement as the new Kings of Céilí are crowned out of fourteen bands from the four provinces , the US and Britain.
THE HISTORY SHOW In this special programme on the history of Irish sport, Myles Dungan is joined by Paul Rouse, author of the book ‘Sport and Ireland’ and renowned sport scholars Mike Cronin and Gearóid Ó Tuathaigh. This programme will explore the varied and often surprising history of sporting pastimes on this island, ranging from medieval times to the recent past.
