Actor Robert Sheehan narrates Wilde Stories, a creative re-imagining of Oscar Wilde through the prism of his fairytales The Happy Prince and Other Stories. The series brings together Irish artists and actors to celebrate and explore the work and life of Oscar Wilde and features interviews with Wilde’s grandson Merlin Holland and his biographer Eleanor Fitzsimons. Part 4 brings us The Nightingale and the Rose, a romantic tragedy read by Lauren Coe. The music inspired by the story is Press Closer by composer Michael Gallen. It is performed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and RTÉ Cór na nÓg with conductor Gavin Maloney and features vocal performances by soloists Rachel Croash and Evan Lawrence.
