Dan Hegarty – The Alternative: Buried Treasure – ‘Friday Night’ by The Brilliant Trees – Monday, July 4 to Thursday, July 7: It’s one of the great lost Irish albums of the 1990s. This certainly is not praise too far when you consider some of the tracks that featured (‘Home’, ‘Talent’, and ‘Welcome Into My Life’) on The Brilliant Trees’ debut album. The album was released in 1996, and while it received a great deal of coverage in their native Ireland, it didn’t break through internationally. The band recently announced that they will play a rare live show in Dublin’s Grand Social in September of this year. Dan features track from ‘Friday Night’ as this week’s Buried Treasure.
