“I’ve Got Your Back”, a quiz show where you don’t need to know anything – other than how much your friends and family know!
Each week, young contestants (aged 10-12) will be trying to climb up 8 prize levels on the brand new quiz show “I’ve Got Your Back”.
At each level is a prize, and the higher they go, the better the prize on offer.
At each level, the contestant will get a choice of topics. Once a topic is selected, a question will be asked. Straight forward, right? Well, not quite….
Each contestant will have 4 team mates with them, team mates that they cannot see or talk to. They are friends and family members. And the contestant must decide which of the team mates will answer each question.
So knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the team mates is of critical importance.
As the questions are asked, the audience can see Dad praying he won’t be picked to answer a question on ballet. But will the contestant pick his sister, who is looking very sure of himself?
At any stage they can leave with the prize they have, or they can hand it back and play for something better. But if a team mate gets a question wrong, the contestant leaves empty handed.
Each week 2 contestants will try to climb the prize ladder with the help of their friends and families.
In the tenth show of the series 11 year old Jack Rainey from Blackrock, Co. Cork will be hoping to get right up the prize ladder. Jack attends Beaumont Boys’ School in Blackrock and is a budding film director. He’s already written a few scripts and is pretty handy with a camcorder! Maybe he’ll win himself a new HD camcorder on I’ve Got Your Back?
With him is his team:
His dad, Seán. Sean works for an international electronics service company and has travelled the world with his job, including Japan, China, US, Jamaica, Dubai and all across Europe. While not working, he can be found relaxing with a good book, playing golf or snooker and working out in the gym.
His aunt, Linda Walsh. Linda works as a hairstylist in Cork City. She’s a massive Westlife fan and is anxiously awaiting news on the reunion. Might be a long wait Linda!
Also on the team is his cousins James & Sarah Walsh, Linda’s children. James is 14 years old and is in 2nd year in Ashton Secondary School in Blackrock, Co. Cork. He loves sports and plays hurling, football and hockey.
Sarah is 12 years old and goes to Beaumont Girls’ National School in Blackrock. Sarah is a keen baker and her favourite football team is Everton. She hasn’t had that much to cheer about this season then…
Also hoping to make their way up the prize ladder in the show is 10 year old Katelyn Rose Slevin from Celebridge, Co. Kildare. Katelyn Rose goes to Scoil Naomh Bríd in Celbridge. She loves musicals and recently played the part of Sophie in “Mama Mia” which was on in the Helix.
Helping her win big on the show is her team:
Her dad, Vinny. He works in IT and according to Katelyn Rose, he is very forgetful. So-much-so, that he’s earned the nickname “Dory”, after the forgetful fish in “Finding Nemo”. Anytime he’s asked to do something around the house, or pick something up on the way home from work, he always forgets. Hmmm…. Does he really?
Her mum, Jennie. Jennie unfortunately doesn’t share her daughter’s musical talents but can nevertheless be heard murdering classics in the kitchen. Jennie was born on St. Valentine’s Day and feels that she is missing out on an extra present every year. Up your game Vinny!
Her grandfather Bill Maher. Bill lives in Lucan with Katelyn Rose’s grandmother. Bill and Katelyn Rose are very close and in fact, she took her first steps when Bill was baby-sitting her one day.
The fifth member of the team is her cousin, Lucy Pollard. Lucy is 9 years old and lives in Lucan. She is a fluent Irish speaker and goes to Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada in Lucan. Her strong subjects are music, history and nature.
Can either team make it to the top of the prize ladder.
