2016 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player

This new agreement will for the first time allow greyhound racing fans enjoy both the Semi-Final and Final of Ireland’s most prestigious event live on RTE2, and online on RTÉ Player and RTÉ.ie. The programmes will be broadcast live from the Dublin venue on Saturday 12th & Saturday 17th September.

Fans across the globe will also have the opportunity to follow the racing action live online both for the semi-final and final nights via the RTE.ie and both programmes will be broadcast for 90 minutes each evening.

Speaking about the new agreement, RTE Group Head of Sport, Ryle Nugent, said “RTÉ Sport is delighted to continue our support of Irish greyhound racing. Irish greyhound racing coverage continues to be important for us and represents part of our public service broadcasting remit. We look forward to bringing the public all the thrills and spills of the 2016 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby.”

Patrick Flynn, Sales, Commercial & Operations Manager at Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium added “The BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby captures the imaginations of racing fans across Ireland, the UK and indeed the World. While nothing can match being here on the night, this new agreement will allow tens of thousands more to be part of the excitement on both Semi-Final and Final nights.”
