Beidh clár an lae inniu dírithe ar amhráin saothair, suantraithe agus amhráin a gceolfaí ar ócáidí ar leith, mar shampla le fáiltiú roimh an samhradh ag tús mhí na Bealtaine atá díreach amach romhainn.  Chuir an bailitheoir clúiteach Alan Lomax suim ar leith sna cinealácha seo amhrán, agus thaifead sé iad ar fud Mheiriceá agus an Caribbean chomh maith  le hAlbain, Éirinn, Sasana, An Spáinn agus An Iodáil.  Thaifead Scoil Eolais na hAlban, Radio Éireann agus an BBC roinnt fosta agus déanadh na taifeadtaí go léir i measc na ngnáth-dhaoine ar an láthair agus iad i mbun oibre. Beidh an clár breac le samplaí ó na tíortha seo go léir, agus beidh cúpla taifead neamhghnách ann a chuirfidh iontas ort.  Láithriú agus léiriú le hIan Lee.

In this week’s programme, Ian Lee focuses on work songs, lullabies and songs to celebrate certain times of the year such as the welcoming of the summer at the beginning of May. American folk music collector and scholar Alan Lomax recorded many examples of such songs in America and the Caribbean as well as Scotland, Ireland, England and Spain and Italy.  Others such as the School of Scottish Studies, Radio Éireann and the BBC also contributed and all recordings in the programme were made in the field as people set about their work and celebrated festivals or lulled their babies to sleep. The programme will feature field recordings from the countries mentioned with some unusual recordings.  Presented and produced by Ian Lee.
