On Saturday 26th March, David McCullagh will present live coverage of the cultural and military ceremony at Dublin’s Garden of Remembrance with commentary by Aine Lawlor from 11.45am on RTÉ One and RTÉ News Now. This major State ceremony will combine a strong cultural element with a formal commemoration of the Irish Volunteers who gave their lives during the Rising.

On Easter Sunday, 27th March, RTÉ will have live coverage of the main State commemoration ceremony and parade at the GPO in Dublin to mark the centenary of the 1916 Rising, with coverage of additional ceremonies at Kilmainham and Glasnevin Cemetery. The five hour broadcast will be presented by Bryan Dobson, Eileen Dunne and Aine Lawlor, with commentary by Cathal Mac Coille, John Bowman and Mary Kennedy.

RTÉ will have extensive live outside broadcast coverage across Dublin city centre, from the start of the parade at St Stephen’s Green through to the main ceremony and parade passing at the GPO, with additional live TV units at Kilmainham Gaol and at Áras an Uachtarain. This will be the biggest broadcast deployment for a State event since the visits of Queen Elizabeth and President Obama in 2011.

As Ireland’s public service media organisation RTÉ will be the host broadcaster for these events, maximising public access to the State Commemorations, and providing complimentary live feeds to both International and domestic Irish media outlets.

RTÉ News will feature coverage of the State ceremonies in addition to reports from regional ceremonies and events throughout the country in special extended Six One News programmes on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

RTÉ One will also broadcast a compilation of the day’s State Commemorations at the GPO on Easter Sunday night from 10.30pm.

On Easter Monday 28th March the RTÉ One O’Clock News will feature the ceremonial wreath laying ceremony live from Athenry, Galway at 1.15pm along with reports from other synchronised wreath-layings around the country. RTÉ News Now will broadcast the full ceremonial event at Athenry from 11.25am.

RTÉ News Now will broadcast the live coverage of the state ceremonial event for the Irish Citizen Army and James Connolly at Liberty Hall on Tuesday 29th March at 10.00am. The event will be attended by President Michael D. Higgins.

On Sunday 3 April from 10.45am, RTÉ One and RTÉ News Now will broadcast live coverage of the interfaith service at the Remembrance Wall in Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin dedicated to all who died during the 1916 Rising. Members of the Irish Volunteers, Irish Citizen Army, British Army, Dublin Metropolitan Police, Royal Irish Constabulary, as well as civilians, including many children, will be remembered.

RTE.ie/news will cover the State Commemorations with live tracker feeds on Sunday and Monday, and picture galleries.

Coverage of the Commemorative events will be streamed live and are accessible to audiences worldwide for free on RTÉ Player, RTÉ Player International and RTÉ News Now (across Desktop, iOS and Android).
