Neven Maguire:Healthy Home Chef (programme three) Wednesday 10th February 2016 7.30 RTÉ One

Healthy Home Chef is Neven Maguire’s seventh Home Chef series, and as the title suggests, Neven’s recipes are healthy – no refined sugar was used in the recipes for this series.

Each programme is based around a health theme (for example fitness, strength and coping with stress) and each week, Neven cooks with a guest that is relevant to the theme. The series was filmed at the Airfield Estate near Dundrum.  The Airfield Estate is a 38 acre working farm, which is open to the public, and whose purpose is to educate people about food and where it comes from.

Programme three: Coping with Stress

In tonight’s programme Neven shows us how to make a wholesome Crispy Salmon with Pomegranate and Watercress Couscous. Proving that desserts can also be healthy and nutritious, he prepares two dessert recipes; Crème Pots, and Hot Cakes with Banana and Mango.

Neven’s special guest this week is the acclaimed psychologist Maureen Gaffney who explains how cooking good food and eating around the table as a family can help reduce stress levels. Maureen is a passionate cook, and shares one of her favourite healthy recipes for Middle Eastern Chicken.
