Rugby’s Greatest Championship returns as the 2016 RBS 6 Nations 6 kicks off on RTÉ2, RTÉ Player, RTÉ Radio 1 and RTÉ.ie

Tomorrow afternoon at 2.00pm on RTÉ2 sees Daire O’Brien joined by Brent Pope, Donal Lenihan and Shane Horgan for live coverage of France v Italy from the Stade de France followed by the Calcutta Cup meeting of Scotland and England from Murrayfield. Sunday see Joe Schmidt’s Ireland begin the defence of their RBS 6 Nations crown at home in the Aviva Stadium against Wales. Daire will be joined at 2.00pm on RTÉ2 by Conor O’Shea, Ronan O’Gara, Shane Horgan with Eddie O’Sullivan and Dafydd James pitch side.

RTÉ2 will also have highlights shows on both Saturday and Sunday night.

On RTÉ Radio 1’s Saturday Sport presenters Des Cahill and John Murray will have updates from France v Italy and Scotland v England plus full commentary from Donnybrook as Ireland Women take on Wales Women in the Women’s Six Nations.

Sunday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1, presented by Jacqui Hurley and John Murray, will have full live commentary of Ireland v Wales.

On Against the Head at 7.00pm Monday evening on RTÉ2 Joanne Cantwell and guests Bernard Jackman, Eddie O’Sullivan and Donal Lenihan will take an experts look back at all the weekend’s action.

Alongside next weekend’s RBS 6 Nations live action on RTÉ2, including France v Ireland at the Stade De France, Darragh Maloney will be joined on Saturday night (February 13) at 7.45pm by Philip Doyle and Rosie Foley for live coverage of the Ireland Women’s trip to take on France in the Women’s Six Nations at the Stade Aime Giral, Perpignan.

Additionally, starting tonight at 7.25pm, RTÉ2 will have full coverage of Ireland’s U20s 6 Nations campaign. Joanne Cantwell will be joined this evening by Alan Quinlan and Donal Lenihan for live coverage from Donnybrook of Ireland v Wales.

Complementing the extensive television and radio coverage of the RBS 6 Nations tournament, every single match will be streamed live online with RTÉ Player, and will be available on-demand for 21 days afterwards. This year RTÉ Player is also supporting its online streaming with bite-size match highlights packages, a range of classic Fans’ Choice* matches, which begins with the classic 2009 Grand Slam decider between Ireland and Wales, and a “Talking Rugby” collection featuring the best RTÉ chat show appearances from all your favourite Irish rugby faces. Video highlights of the best of the action will be available on every device, with weekly columns from former Irish international Conor O’Shea. RTÉ.ie will have an online reporter at every Irish game, providing reports and features and supplementing RTÉ’s extensive social media coverage on Twitter (@rterugby), Instagram (@rtesport) on Facebook (RTÉ Rugby) and on the RTÉ Sport Youtube channel. And each week, selected players and RTÉ analysts will join us to review all the action on our dedicated Rugby Show podcast, available via iTunes and Soundcloud.
