We join the many thousands of visitors to Sligo for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann with presenters John Creedon and Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin. Included in this week’s programme are Sligo groups The Unwanted and LOKI and we visit the Fleadh’s teaching wing Scoil Eigse.
Overview
Fleadh Cheoil is a series of six television programmes from the Sligo Fleadh Cheoil presented by John Creedon and Aoibhinn Ní Shuilleabháin.
The annual Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann returned to Sligo for a second consecutive year.
The series will showcase a host of musicians and singers who attended the Fleadh including Kieran Hanrahan, Seamus Begley, John Spillane, Oisín MacDiarmada, Michael Rooney, John Wynne, John McEvoy, Mick, Louise and Michelle Mulcahy, Daire Bracken, Tom Doorley, Dylan Foley, Philip Duffy, Liam Kelly, Damien Stenson, Dan Brouder, Angelina Carberry, Leonard Barry, Matt Cunningham, Gerry O’Connor, Martin Quinn and Caitlín Nic Gabhann.
Among the groups featured are Danú, Boys of the Lough, The Unwanted, The Trí Tones, FourWinds, Seven Glens, Cúig, JigJam and LOKI.
The programmes will also include a visit to Scoil Éigse, the Scoil Éigse Tutors Concert and competitions including The Senior Céilí Band Competition.
