RTÉ brings packed schedule to the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2016

 

Bryan and Miriam put interview skills of BTYSTE participants to the test

 

RTÉ is again supporting BTYSTE 2016 with a packed schedule of live broadcasts, events and activities across RTÉ platforms. Young people from across the country converged on the ever-popular RTÉ set in the RDS today and RTÉ will be there right through to Saturday.  

·         RTÉ presenters, Bryan Dobson and Miriam O’Callaghan were on hand to put the interview skills of willing BTYSTE participants to the test, while Eoghan McDermott and Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh will be there to do likewise tomorrow, Friday (11am and 11.30am respectively).

·         RTÉ 2fm’s new lunchtime presenter, Tracy Clifford, reported on the buzz of opening day, while Nicky Byrne and Jenny Green will join the excitement when they broadcast their show live from the RDS on Friday (10am – 1pm). Recently announced RTÉ 2fm presenter, Blathnaid Treacy will also be live from the RDS on Saturday when she broadcasts The National Chart Show from the RTÉ set (11am-1pm)

 

·         RTÉ2 broadcast TwoTube live from the event on Thursday (3.30pm – 5.30pm) and will be there again for Day 2 on Friday (3.30pm – 5.30pm). Visitors to the RTÉ set will get the chance to meet popular presenters, Stephen Byrne and Blathnaid Treacy and see them in action.

·         The RTÉ weather team are presenting RTÉ’s lunchtime weather bulletin on the RTÉ set on each day of the event, live on RTÉ One television, while weather wannabes can also get the chance to deliver the weather forecast from 2.30 – 5pm each afternoon. 

·         RTÉjr’s bug expert, Michel Dugon gave BTYSTE participants a close encounter with bugs, insects and creepy crawlies and shared stories of exciting bug hunting expeditions, while Reuben will provide entertainment for younger visitors to the RDS on Saturday (2 – 4pm). 

·         Other highlights for visitors to the RTÉ set during the three days include, 360 degree video demos from Innovation Lead, Technology at RTÉ, Glen Mulcahy on Friday (10am – 1pm), RTÉ Player PhysiQuiz, live broadcasts from RTÉ Radio’s dedicated digital dance music station, RTÉ Pulse and RTÉ’s Operation Transformation.

·         RTÉ will also produce regular news updates from the RDS throughout Thursday and Friday.
