Thursday 19th November 2015 at 5.30pm – Changing Climate Change

Can the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference COP21 in Paris forge a consensus on climate change? As world leaders gather in Paris for COP21 Roger Harrabin examines the shifting nature of the debate where there is now a growing interplay between science, technology, economics, business, politics and public policy.

Episode One

Climate talks typically end in disenchantment and disarray, so will this year’s summit in Paris be different? We examine the science, politics and solutions of and to climate change. We talk to a leading US politician who says nothing will persuade her of manmade climate change. And we meet the “luke-warmers” who accept that we are warming the climate but are not worried. Other scientists accuse them of “complacency-mongering” and warn that the climate may face tipping points that computers can’t predict.
