ANNA FARIS and Emmy winner ALLISON JANNEY star in this pulls-no-punches comedy from executive producer Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Mike & Molly). Christy (Faris) is a single mom and Napa Valley waitress valiantly trying to overcome a lifetime of questionable choices. Now a year clean and sober, she’s tested daily by her newly sober mom, Bonnie. Complicating things further is Christy’s stubborn teenage daughter, Violet (series star SADIE CALVANO), who just gave up her baby for adoption; her overly-honest son, Roscoe (series star BLAKE GARRETT ROSENTHAL); her slacker ex-husband, Baxter (series star MATT JONES); Violet’s clueless boyfriend, Luke (series star SPENCER DANIELS); Christy’s married boss and former fling, Gabriel (series star NATE CORDDRY); the restaurant’s lascivious chef, Rudy (series star FRENCH STEWART); her sober friend, Marjorie (new series star MIMI KENNEDY); and her long-estranged father, Alvin (recurring guest star KEVIN POLLAK). Christy tries to remain positive as she pursues a better life, but with her dysfunctional family and dubious support system, it’s always an uphill battle.
In the second season premiere episode, Bonnie is furious when Christy’s poor financial decisions threaten the family’s living situation. Meanwhile, Christy agrees to help out Jill (recurring guest star JAIME PRESSLY), a woman who is newly sober.
Series 2, episode 1.
