Deborah grew up in a Catholic family. “When I was at school I played with Muslim kids and there was absolutely nothing different about them. They were the only Muslim family in Finglas and I met them again at Clonskeagh mosque when I became a Muslim. I’d been searching for something for a long time.” Deborah says that she was a secret Muslim before she took her Shahada. (Became a Muslim). “I was attracted by the parallels between Christianity and Islam, but I didn’t want to give up Issa (The Prophet Jesus).”
