Arena Public Interview – Martin Sheen in conversation with Sean Rocks

Martin Sheen was born Ramon Gerard Estevez in Dayton, Ohio, in August 1940, the son of Mary-Anne Phelan from Borrisokane in Tipperary and Francisco Estevez from Gallicia in Northern Spain. Martin has played presidents -actual and fictional, heroes and villains and has worked with directors the calibre of Francis Coppola, Martin Scorcese, Steven Speiberg, Terrence Malick and Richard Attenborough and acted alongside Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Orson Welles, Terence Howard, Harrison Ford and Sean Penn to name but a few. He has also had a parallel career as a tireless campaigner for truth, social justice and the human rights of others.

In this searingly honest and deeply personal interview punctuated by both laughter and tears, Martin Sheen talks to Sean Rocks about his life and his craft, in this Arena public interview recorded at The Galway Film Fleadh, on this day, exactly 18 months ago
