WHAT HAPPENS WHEN AN APPARENTLY SIMPLE LIE SPIRALS OUT OF CONTROL AND LEADS TO LIFE-SHATTERING CONSEQUENCES?
Written by Bafta and International Emmy award-winning screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst and starring a strong ensemble cast, Ordinary Lies shows how desperation can lead to drastic solutions, even in the most everyday of workplaces.
Set on the shopfloor and in the offices of a motor showroom, this warm, compelling and often humorous series follows the stories of an ordinary group of colleagues and friends who, beneath the fun and banter, are struggling to deal with situations they’re hiding from those around them. They may see each other every day, but do they really know each other at all?
Characters include Head of Sales Beth, still reeling from the mysterious disappearance of her husband, who’s drawn into a relationship with married showroom boss Mike, and heavy-drinking salesman Marty, whose desperate lie to save his job throws his life into turmoil. Former gambler Paracetamol Pete goes down a risky path to deal with eye-watering debts, while young party girl receptionists Tracy and Viv put themselves in serious danger as they try to fast-track their way to a life of luxury.
Over the course of the series, the gradual unravelling of each person’s tangled web of lies results in revelations, shocks and stunning confessions that could change their lives forever.
