A new feature will be added to Siúlach Scéalach series starting today on the history of, mainly, the field recording of Irish music and song and the work of, amongst others, Alan Lomax, Sidney Robertson Cowell, Diane Guggenheim, Peter Kennedy and others who came to Ireland, as well as field recordings by Ciarán MacMathún, among others. We will also hear a couple of examples of the first recordings of Irish music made in America around 1896. Presenter/Producer: Ian Lee.
