Cormac McCarthy is fast becoming a household name in Ireland and abroad. Born in Cork, he was surrounded by traditional music, alongside his formal piano and composition studies. He has just released a new album, Cottage Evolution, which draws heavily on his traditional experience, and places it in a contemporary big band context. Not an easy feat to pull off. Cormac chats to Ellen Cranitch about his life in music on Grace Notes tonight.
