MARTY IN THE MORNING

Marty Whelan and a lucky pair of listeners are off to the Verona Opera Festival to experience a production of Verdi’s Nabucco.

Nabucco opened this year’s festival in Arena di Verona, and is appreciated by the audiences who attend for its impressive sets and the huge number of performers which fill the largest stage in the world. Marty will meet the stars, explore the charms of Verona and go behind the scenes at the atmospheric amphitheatre of the open air Arena di Verona – a place Marty describes as “the closest thing to musical heaven on Earth”. We’ll also enjoy the magic of Venice; its glimmering canals and dusty alleyways, home to Vivaldi – the Red Priest. Marty in the Morning and guests live from Venice is broadcast in association with the Travel Department.
