In 2002 Ian Lee spent a week in the company of the late Muiris Ó Rócháin, former Director of the Willie Clancy Summer School, as he busied himself looking after every aspect of the school that year. Muiris gave of his time generously, and spoke about all aspects of the organisation of the school. In addition, many well-known musicians, and others, paid tribute to his unique personality and organisational skills, particularly his wife Úna.
