FAIR CITY’S CARRIGSTOWN TO GET EXPERT HARDWARE STORE
RTÉ AND EXPERT HARDWARE AGREE 3 YEAR
FAIR CITY SPONSORSHIP
RTÉ and Expert Hardware have announced an exciting new three year sponsorship deal. The new deal will see the Carrigstown Expert Hardware store unveiled as part of the series when the new shop hits TV screens on Wednesday, April 15th, 2015.
Fair City is the number one soap opera on Irish television and is watched by an average of nearly half a million viewers four times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 8pm on RTÉ One.
Expert Hardware work specifically with independently owned, family run stores in local communities across the country. Since its foundation in 2005 the group’s goal is to provide expert service and value for money to customers at a local level whilst protecting the future of local hardware stores, employing over 300 people directly and exceeding 1500 jobs indirectly.
Commenting on the sponsorship Jane Gogan, Head of Drama, RTÉ Television said; “Expert Hardware is a natural fit for Fair City as a brand that is focused on working within communities and businesses at a local level across the country. We are very pleased to have Expert Hardware on board and look forward to this new development in Carrigstown very soon.”
Speaking about the announcement Expert Hardware Chairman, David Baker said: “Fair City is significant because of its true representation of community life all over Ireland. It is therefore very fitting for Expert Hardware to be chosen as the local hardware store in Carrigstown, since the main ethos of the Expert Hardware brand is being involved in the local community that every Expert Hardware store operates in. Expert Hardware will be working very hard with Pete and Damien and staff to give the best service available to all their customers”
Gerry McGuinness, Sponsorship Manager for RTÉ Television added; “The Expert Hardware partnership with Fair City shows how important trust and understanding are with any great deal. Fair City understands that Expert provides DIY advice and solutions in the local neighbourhood and this ties in with the culture of the drama. Also this agreement is not like a TV ad where each frame on screen is under the control of the brand. Now that the shop is built, Expert Hardware have to place their trust in the professionalism of the Fair City production team when the shop is seen by the huge amount of regular viewers.
