New Irish preschool animation series Inis Spraoi to premier on RTÉjr
RTÉjr has announced a new and exciting pre-school animation series called Inis Spraoi, which will air on RTÉjr February 16th at 7am and 2pm. Inis Spraoi follows the adventures of Sean, Roisín and their classmates, who hop on board a school-boat which takes them to their playschool on a magical island called Inis Spraoi.
This charming animation series, which was created by Magpie6Media Producation, will air 26 episodes in total and is aimed at 3 to 6 year olds. The educational series aims to instil and encourage an appetite for learning and inspire a spirit of inquisitiveness, as well as demonstrating the value of creative problem solving through teamwork. An Irish language version of Inis Spraoi will air on RTÉjr during Seachtain Na Gaeilge starting March 3rd.

We trust that young children will come to know and enjoy the stories of Sean, Roisn and their friends as much as we do. Viewers will have fun following Mister O’Dear as he brings the children to many fantastical places on Inis Spraoi from the rocky shores of Skipper Seamus’ lighthouse all the way up to the lofty heights of Sully Falcon’s Waterfall Glen.
Inis Spraoi is a Magpie6Media production. It was created by Clifford Parrott, Stephen and Kevin O’Brien, directed by Clifford Parrott and produced by Deirdre Barry. The series will be distributed internationally by Monster Entertainment. The animation has been made with support from the BAI Sound and Vision Fund and the Irish Film Board.

The children and their teacher, Mr. O’Dear take advantage of all of the wonders of the enchanted Inis Spraoi in their daily adventures – amazing places like Seagull Point, Periwinkle Quay, Otter Creek, The Pirate’s Cave, the Shipwreck and their own castle schoolhouse provide the backdrop for their playschool fun, exploring and learning.
