Eight young Irish & Australian marine animal enthusiasts embark on a gruelling six-week training mission to become dolphin and seal trainers, working with rescued marine animals, taking part in daring marine animal rescues and even helping out with the birth of a baby dolphin. 6 weeks, 1 mission…an epic adventure!

Park boss Paige pays the team a visit and sets them a few serious deadlines for their upcoming show. Ivy and Darragh are tasked with caring for two fluffy penguin chicks; MCs Dana and Sophie take to their mics in show rehearsal and the entire team set off by chopper and dive boat for the trip of a lifetime.
Synopsis:
Whilst the Rookies chillax back at their beach lodge retreat park boss Paige and head trainer Aaron pay them an unannounced visit! It’s just less than 4 weeks to go before the Rookies’ debut performance and they still have no show plan so Paige sets them some serious deadlines. Back at the marine park Sophie and Ivy are tasked with a spot of window cleaning in Dolphin Lagoon. Darragh and Ivy are given responsibility for two adorable penguin chicks. Elsewhere in the park MCs Sophie and Dana receive the thumbs down and thumbs up treatment from the rest of the team as they try out their presenting skills. The marine park staff organise a trip to the protected South Solitary Island in their search for inspiration for the reef pool makeover. Half of the team embark on a breathtaking underwater diving experience to study the colourful reefs and marine life, coming face to face with some razor-toothed predators, whilst the rest of the Rookies take to the air and arrive in style by chopper! It provides some wonderful inspiration for the Rookies’ designs. 8 Rookies, 6 weeks, 1 mission. This is Blue Zoo.
