Bernard Clarke presents Raymond Deane’s The Alma Fetish (with a libretto by Gavin Kostick)

The  world premiere is an “enhanced concert performance” with cast, chorus, and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.

This two act opera concerns the relationship between Mahler’s widow Alma, the painter Oskar Kokoschka, and the latter’s maid Hulda. Oh yes – and there is also a part for a singing, dancing doll… that meets a sticky end.

A stellar cast includes baritone Leigh Melrose (Oskar), soprano Majella Cullagh (Alma), and soprano Daire Halpin (Hulda).

The Wide Open Opera Chorus and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Fergus Sheil.
