Hailed as the greatest singer of the 20th century, Swedish tenor Jussi Björling astounded the opera world with a voice of unparalleled purity and brilliance.
In 2011, to mark the centenary of Björling’s birth, the Lyric Feature celebrated his brief life and his legacy of recordings with contributions by international Björling scholars Harald Henrysson and Sue Flaster, opera festival director Anne-Marie O’Sullivan and former artistic director of Opera Australia Moffatt Oxenbould.
