Egils Silius (bass-baritone) is the Dutchman who is doomed to sail the seas until he finds a woman who will be faithful to him until death. Meanwhile Senta (soprano, Anja Kampe), though engaged to Erik (tenor, Endrik Wottrich), is strangely drawn to the Dutchman. Jeffrey Tate conducts the Royal Opera House Orchestra.
